We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Veteran Outreach & Community Engagement Coordinator to support and engage veterans through community programs, events, and outreach initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating public events, promoting programs through social media and local media outlets, and serving those who have served our country.
The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with veterans from diverse backgrounds, representing Together with Veterans in the community, and creating promotional materials that increase awareness and participation in veteran-focused programs and events.
  • While serving, members receive a living allowance dispersed twice per month in addition to an education award at the end of successful service term.
  • Service term is September 2026 through May 2027
  • Hours per week:  15
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with social media management and community outreach
  • Ability to design flyers and promotional materials using tools such as Canva or similar platforms
  • Comfortable speaking publicly and hosting events
  • Experience working with veterans, military families, nonprofits, or community organizations preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred

We are seeking someone with the following skills:
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Public relations or media outreach experience
  • Photography and basic video editing skills
  • Knowledge of veteran resources and services
  • Experience building community partnerships
  • Veterans encouraged to apply


  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with veterans, community organizations, and partners
  • Plan, organize, and host veteran-focused events, workshops, and outreach activities
  • Create flyers, promotional materials, and digital content for events and programs
  • Manage and grow social media presence across platforms such as Facebook and Instagram
  • Coordinate with local newspapers, radio stations, television outlets, and community calendars to promote events and initiatives
  • Attend community events and represent Together with Veterans professionally
  • Assist veterans with accessing programs, services, and resources when appropriate
  • Take photos and videos at events for marketing and outreach purposes
  • Maintain event schedules, outreach records, and engagement reports
  • Support volunteer recruitment and community partnerships
  • Data collection and monthly reporting
  • Attend United Way and host site led trainings/meetings as required
  • Able to report in person for work in Lehigh, Northampton or Carbon counties.
  • Able to secure clearances to work with vulnerable populations (Act 153).
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Have a HS diploma or G.E.D.
  • 18 years of age or older
